Georgia has been named alongside Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan as one of the safest countries to live in by an international lifestyle website.
Website lifestyle9.com ranked Georgia on the Top 10 Safest Countries to Live in the World list.
“Georgia is a country that shows the combination of diversity and uniqueness,” the website wrote.
“The country offers its visitors Black Sea coastline, curative climate, national parks, Caucasus mountain range, mineral waters, delicious cuisine, rich culture, UNESCO Heritage Sites and popular Georgian hospitality.”
The website ranked Georgia the eighth safest country ahead of Singapore and Bahrain.
Lifestyle9.com said the crime rate in Georgia was “very low and it made it one of the safest countries in the world.”
In addition to the improved safety, the attractions in the country from Tbilisi’s old town architecture to the beaches in Batumi and vibrant nightlife made Georgia a great place to live, the website said.
The authors mentioned the recent legislative changes in the country had helped reduce the overall crime rates in cities throughout Georgia and had also helped improve the standard of living.
“Georgia is now enhancing its tourism potential and offering its full range of attraction safely to visitors,” the website wrote.
“Once the corruption in Georgia was big annoy for tourist, but now it becomes less visible due to Rose revolution. Now it is reasonable as well as safe to trust the police. Georgian police are patrolling every street in the towns and cities regularly; they can help the people in case of any problem.”
Countries that ranked safer than Georgia were Luxembourg (7), Malta (6), United Arab Emirate (5), South Korea (4), Hong Kong (3), Taiwan (2) and Japan (1).
