CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a 4-year-old girl was killed in a fast-moving house fire that left nearly a dozen people homeless.
The fire apparently started early Saturday in the row home on Morton Street in Camden.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but authorities say it doesn’t appear to be suspicious. They also say there were working smoke alarms in the home.
The name of the girl who was killed has not been released.
Authorities say many of the displaced residents were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation. They were all receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
