Kim Kardashian Calling Herself the “Biggest Taylor Swift Fan” in 2009
It’s Thursday. Have you shared your weekly throwback? Here’s Kim Kardashian’s contribution – by way of Entertainment Tonight, who just unearthed this video from 2009 of Kim talking about the number one song on her iPod (back when iPods were still cool). According to Kim, who was 29 at the time, she had “Love Story” by Taylor Swift pretty much on repeat, like the rest of Taylor Nation that year. In the same interview, Kim also offered this: “I love Taylor Swift. I’m the biggest Taylor Swift fan. I’m watching her on Twitter. I just signed up on Twitter, and I’m watching you, Taylor. Following.”

Watching. Following. Is there a difference? Following someone on Twitter is watching their every move. And of course, years later, that watching and following gave way to one of the biggest controversies in pop culture history, when Kim shared on Snapchat recordings of a phone call between Taylor and Kanye West about his lyrics for “Famous.” You know the rest of that story.
With the recent release of “Look What You Made Me Do,” a song many have viewed as Taylor’s response to the whole #TaylorIsaSnake drama, among other things, this video of Kim serves as both a reminder of what a difference eight years can make, and how infectious of a song “Love Story” was at the time. See? Told you it was the ultimate throwback.
