Following the outrageous success of this year’s Beauty and the Beast remake, production of Disney’s next live-action venture, Aladdin, is officially underway in London. Will Smith, who’s playing the Genie (voiced by Robin Williams in the 1992 animated version) shared a photo of himself with the rest of the film’s stars:

Disney announced this morning that casting is officially finished for the movie. Navid Negahban has joined the film as the Sultan, while new characters include Nasim Pedrad as Jasmine’s attendant and friend, Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, who will vie for Jasmine’s affections; and Numan Acar as Hakim, Jafar’s bodyguard.
In addition to new recordings of the classic songs written by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice for the 1992 film, this Aladdin will include two new songs written by Menken and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who wrote the music for La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen.
Aladdin does not have a release date yet.
